The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the struggle between spirituality and money, it's a knockout win for materialism in this director's delightfully tacky true story of the disgraced TV preacher plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield portrays the venal Jim, who proclaims at the beginning, asserting religious justification for riches. Both individuals commence monetising the people's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of bad interior design, overdone appearance and bad faith, however the lead actress manages to show the real-life figure in a likable light. Tuesday 14 October, late night, Film4

This week's another release by the same director delivers a espionage tale as tight like the turtlenecks sported by Michael Fassbender's British agent.
